Bangkok Trip Sept 08

It has been a while since last post. We're almost fully occupied with our little princess and it's greatest joy we've ever had to see her growing up each day...

This is our first trip to Bangkok.

Suvarnabhumi Airport, ~7pm 18 Sept.

Eastin Hotel and Spa - Our trip started with a really nice hotel room, their service and facilities are above our expectation. Too bad we didn't take good pictures for the room. Taxi fare was quite reasonably too, cost us ~300baht from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Eastin.
Welome drink by Eastin

LCD TV showing guest name with available services.

Suan Lum night bazaar was our first destination since we reached there at evening, you'll be amazed with a lot of creative stuff sell by the local people here (painting, decorative items, lady accessories, some sophisticated gadgets and etc, etc). We actually had 2nd visit to this fascinating night bazaar on our last night in Bangkok.

Small aisle between shop lots

Huge food court within Suan Lum night bazaar

Day two, visit to Grand palace --> Wat Arun --> MBK/Central World --> Chinatown --> Khao San. We were conned by our tour-guide, Jackie (the big fat liar) in the Grand Palace for this boring Chao Phraya boat ride cost us 1600baht. Jackie told us we could visit the Royal Barges Musuem, Floating Market, a place where we would see a lot of lively river fishes before we hop off at Wat Arun. In the end, we'd closed musuem, fake "floating market" and we were the "water fish" in the boat.

Wat (Siamese Pagoda)

Architecture fusion (Victoria + Siamese structure)

PadThai hawker stall in Khao San, next to BBQ stall

(we tried the pork BBQ, taste so-so, nothing to shout about).

Chatuchak Market (largest market in Bangkok). You'll never really finish your shopping here. Things are super cheap and the shot lots are never ending. Tips: for those who wish to visit this place, please get a copy of Chatuchak map, you will find it handy :).

Typical tuk-tuk in Chatuchak

Modelling with nice skirt (cost 280baht) in Chatuchak

Souvenir shops. Need bargaining skills here.

Hundreds of small walk way like this in Chatuchak. Imagine the number of shops...

Last day, visit Pratunam market before check out and head to airport.

Walking towards Pratunam market, Baiyoke Tower Hotel at the back.

Super complicated wiring technique, imagine how messy is Bangkok city...
